The scattered islands of the Seychelles glitter with the promise of pristine white sands, graceful granite peaks and coral reefs teeming with tropical fish.
World-famous beaches, spellbinding sunsets and wildly luxurious resorts are only the beginning when it comes to the Seychelles. Ever-popular as a honeymoon destination, this cluster of idyllic islands in the Indian Ocean are bequeathed with nature’s gifts and adorned with a bedazzlement of resorts that cater perfectly for couples seeking romance and seclusion.
The 115 granite and coralline islands that make up the country are scattered like diamonds in the night sky across the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Mahé is the largest and most developed; it offers activities in abundance, and the tiny capital, Victoria, is enthralling to explore on foot, with its medley of different cultures, architecture and heritage.
Tourism still treads lightly here, and these magical islands remain a sanctuary for both discerning luxury travellers and the Seychelles’ spectacular wildlife.
Step ashore on islands such as Praslin and Cousin and you’ll feel like you’ve travelled back in time, the forest alive with the calls of exotic birds and tiny tree frogs. On land, giant tortoises thrive in surprising numbers, while beneath the surface of the turquoise seas swim reef sharks, eagle rays and Hawksbill turtles. The Seychelles is also home to remarkable endemic flora, including the famous coco de mer, with its giant nut that weigh up to 30 kilos.
In between exploring the islands you’ll need somewhere to relax; luckily for you, the Seychelles is home to some of the world’s most desirable resorts.
From plush pool villas overlooking tranquil bays to beachfront cottages dotted around private islands, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting your perfect home away from home.
Serene and secluded, exclusive yet authentic, the Seychelles is a place to reconnect with nature while enjoying the very best in luxury hospitality.
Why We Love the Seychelles
Petya, our Product Manger for the Indian Ocean, says...
Small, beautiful islands with stunning beaches and remarkable wildlife. Seychelles is a natural paradise and one of the most romantic places in the world. There is something for everyone, from relaxing in the spa, reading a book on the beach or being more active by hiking or diving. People are friendly and open to all visitors.
Island hopping is the best way to explore Seychelles, from the local market in Victoria on Mahe, to the legendary UNESCO World Heritage Site - Valle de Mai on Praslin, home of 6000 Coco-de-Mer trees. Just 15 minutes boat journey from Praslin is La Digue (my favourite), where you can grab a bike and take the most amazing pictures of the nature or the famous Anse Marron beach.
