JUST BACK FROM...ANTIGUA August 23, 2023

Luxury Sales Manager, Fiona recently returned from Antigua. 

"I was delighted to visit Antigua and returned feeling that the island is looking better than ever. My trip started with Hodges Bay Resort & Spa. During my time here, I took the 5-minute boat ride to their private island, Prickly Pear where we enjoyed a sumptuous sharing dinner, al fresco. You simply cannot miss a trip here when staying at Hodges Bay Resort & Spa.

Our next stay was Blue Waters Resort & Spa, a long-time favourite of Caribtours and a resort that I was very familiar with, and it was great to see all of the continued developments which keep it looking fresh and luxurious. As well as the two new pools, one overlooking the beach and an adults only pool where there is a lovely new restaurant, even the flora and fauna was looking fabulous - so green and lush, the whole hotel has a lovely atmosphere to it. I was able to sample The Cove Restaurant, the new Reef Restaurant and The Palm and all meals were as good as the last.

Our final stay was at the iconic Jumby Bay Island. Reachable only by boat and with no cars in sight, this was the perfect blend of peace, seclusion and complete wellbeing. This was my first time seeing the resort since it was recently refurbished with a fresh new look and I adored the changes – the new Junior Suites are spectacular, overlooking the stunning beach and perfectly flexible to combine multiple suites for families. I am always blown away by this unique resort and this time was no different.

During my time in Antigua, I had the opportunity to visit many resorts including Hermitage Bay, Carlisle Bay, Curtain Bluff, Galley Bay Resort & Spa, Tamarind Hills and Royalton Antigua – all with their own unique appeal and flair. There is a place to suit everyone in Antigua, so do ask us for our recommendations and we'll create you the perfect Antiguan escape. In addition to the stunning resorts, there was island exploring and dining out in local restaurants, it is not hard to see why Antigua remains such a popular destination and really a special island."
