GETTING OUT & ABOUT
Mosaic Private Sanctuary is set amongst a landscape of supreme natural beauty, close to Hermanus at the point where the fragrant fynbos meets the dunes of the famous Cape Whale Coast.
A two-hour drive from Cape Town airport and 30 minutes from Hermanus.
Just outside the village of Stanford.
Mosaic offers two styles of accommodation. Lagoon Lodge comprises five safari-style suites, each with a private deck for wonderful mountain views, a fireplace and rustic bathroom with large bath and indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can mingle in the cosy lounge and there is also a heated plunge pool. Alternatively, there are three self-contained cottages, sleeping from two to 12 people, each with a kitchen, patio and barbecue.
Lagoon Café, set in the historic 1892 Spookhuis, cooks up all sorts of treats, including Southern-style barbecue fare, reflecting the Tennessee heritage of Mosaic’s owners.
Rain Milkwood Spa offers a range of soothing treatments or explore the grounds and neighbouring beach and nature reserve on quad bikes or mountain bikes. Lagoon cruises, kayaking and guided nature walks can be arranged, and nearby Walker Bay is one of the best places in the world for whale watching.
Be sure to try out the Quad Bike tours and lagoon cruises - it is truly spectacular! For the more adventurous there is the opportunity for shark cage diving and whale watching!
"‘Elegant, refined and understated’ - these are the words that Coral Reef Club’s many repeat guests use to describe this wonderful family-owned hotel."
"The Thursday night barbecue is out of this world and really shouldn’t be missed - the extraordinary culinary experience is followed by a floor show with limbo dancing and fire eating."
"The cottages here are all named after flowers, fruits and trees found in the hotel’s beautiful gardens - Head Gardener, Lloyd Richards, has worked at the hotel for nearly 30 years and his weekly horticultural tours are a real treat."
"Coral Reef Club is incredibly popular so make sure you book early, especially if you’re planning to visit in February."
