At the foot of Table Mountain in central Cape Town, just 15 minutes from the V&A Waterfront.

Accommodation

The 198 rooms and suites, spread across seven wings, are decorated in an understated and elegant style. All have a marble bathroom, flat screen TV, WiFi and open-plan bedroom and sitting area, and some also have a balcony. Junior Suites are more spacious and include an iPod docking station, while Studio Suites are bigger still and offer a combined bedroom and lounge area; Deluxe Studio Suites are perfect for families as they sleep up to four persons. For a separate living room, upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite, where the second room can be turned into a bedroom for kids. Interconnecting rooms are also available. The lavish Presidential Suite has a separate dining area, large living room, balcony with sun loungers, kitchenette, stylish 1930s baccarat crystal light fittings and an original desk from 1899, the year the hotel opened. The Garden Cottage Suites are housed within a row of restored cottages near The Cottage Pool, and each have their own rose garden enclosed by a picket fence, making them perfect for couples and honeymooner.

At Oasis, during the day, soak up the sun with an al fresco lunch or savour the essence of the Western Cape with a dinner menu celebrating the region’s provenance, featuring locally sourced ingredients prepared over wood flames, hot coals, or the alluring warmth of smoke. The Verandah beckons with Chef George Jardine’s exquisite three-course a la carte menu, a gastronomic journey showcasing his culinary artistry. Meanwhile, the Red Room by Chef’s Warehouse invites you to explore the vibrant and diverse Pan-Asian cuisine, curated with flare and innovation. The cosy Planet Bar is a stylish venue for relaxing drinks at the end of the day.

There are two heated outdoor swimming pools - The Oasis Pool, suited to families, and The Cottage Pool for over 16 yrs only, plus two tennis courts with a pro coach, and a fitness centre offering personal training, yoga and Pilates. The wonderful Librisa Spa has eight treatment rooms, a sauna, steam bath and plunge pool, and offers treatments in partnership with skincare specialist Africology. The Kids Club for children aged 3-12 yrs is packed full of educational games and toys so there’s always something for the little ones to do.
