Burj Al Arab is adding to its facilities with the creation of a new North Deck, which will extend from the seaward side of Burj Al Arab into the Arabian Gulf. The North Deck has been constructed offsite and is now ready to be moved into place and the connecting of the North Deck to the resort will take place from mid-February for approx. 4 weeks (weather permitting). During this time, there will be large vessels and a tall crane around the area installing the pieces of the deck onto the piles, which are already in place, and these will be visible from Bab Al Yam’s terrace and the marina garden, so both areas will be closed during the installation period. The work may also be visible from the sunset garden, where the sun loungers are placed, so it is suggested that guests use the Burj Al Arab private beach during this period as an alternative. Noise is expected to be limited to that of the cranes, tugs and the movement of vessels during daylight hours.
Once completed the new North Deck will include:
- A fresh water swimming pool
- A salt water swimming pool
- 4 Jacuzzis – each 15m2
- 24 Business Class Cabanas
- 8 First Class Cabanas - with sea and deck views, toilets and showers
- 400 sun loungers
- Changing rooms
- A swim up bar
- A restaurant with spacious terrace seating, serving Santa Monica style modern cuisine
- An outdoor bar
