GoldenEye

Hidden in 52 acres of beautiful tropical grounds, goldeneye’s exclusive private estate incorporates secluded beaches and a natural lagoon. James Bond author, Ian Fleming, built a very simple home here in the 1950’s, but today’s goldeneye is modern, luxurious and simply stunning.

There are 48 Villas, Cottages and Beach Huts, plus the Fleming Villa. The beautiful cottages and villas are set either on the beach or at the edge of the lagoon. The two main restaurants serve fabulous Jamaican and international cuisine. The informal Bizot Bar is located just steps from the beach and hosts a weekly BBQ. Built in an open-air tree house-style, The Gazebo is an upscale restaurant, overlooking Low Cay Beach and the lagoon. There are two secluded beaches and a wide range of activities include tennis, glass-bottom boat excursions and fitness classes. Complimentary watersports include kayaking, paddleboarding and head to Snorkeler’s Cove to grab a snorkel and fins before exploring one of the many coral reefs nearby. An extensive range of relaxing beauty and body therapies using locally-grown herbs and flowers are available at the lagoon-side FieldSpa. Ask us about a multi-centre stay with sister hotels Strawberry Hill and The Caves.

Accommodation

The 48 beautiful villas are set either on the beach or at the edge of the lagoon. The bright and airy Beach and Lagoon Villas are all unique, and have either one or two bedrooms designed in a contemporary Caribbean style. Each has ample living space and features a king size bed, air conditioning, a flat screen TV, Sonos sound system, complimentary WiFi, a fully-equipped kitchen and a private outdoor rain shower. The secluded Lagoon Cottages extend out over the lagoon and have large, shaded verandahs offering direct access to the water. Located on the opposite side of the property, GoldenEye’s 26 colourful Beach Huts are clustered around a quiet snorkelling cove and just steps from the resort’s second beach. Each free-standing Beach Hut features high ceilings, air conditioning, over-sized louvred windows and a stylish but authentically-Jamaican design. For larger groups or wedding parties, we highly recommend the Fleming Villa, which consists of Ian Fleming’s original three-bedroom home, two one-bedroom guest cottages, a private swimming pool and a sunken garden with outdoor dining area and access to an exclusive private beach.

Restaurants And Bars

The two main restaurants serve fabulous Jamaican and international cuisine. The informal Bizot Bar is located just steps from the beach and offers breakfast, lunch, snacks, inventive cocktails and a weekly BBQ. Built in an open-air tree house-style, The Gazebo is an upscale restaurant for dinner only, overlooking Low Cay Beach and the lagoon, and serving a range of dishes from grilled lobster tail to seasoned rack of lamb, complemented by an international wine list. Over by the Beach Huts, you can relax at the rustic Bamboo Bar and Grill, serving delicious Jamaican Jerk BBQ along with grilled fish straight from the sea. Or head to the super-relaxed Shabeen by the pool for cocktails and drinks with panoramic views of the sea.

"James Bond fans will be in Seventh Heaven at GoldenEye - live out your 007 fantasies at Ian Fleming’s original Jamaican hideaway where he created the world’s most famous secret agent and played host to the glitterati of the time."

"We love the fun and funky design of GoldenEye’s colourful Beach Huts - we’d especially recommend the Tall Beach Huts which are raised up on stilts to make the most of the cooling sea breezes."
