There are 192 rooms and suites, with interiors inspired by both the local architecture and the earthy, natural tones of the wetland ecosystem. All accommodation features a private balcony or terrace, air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities and in-room safe. There are options to suit both couples and families, plus a selection of spacious one and two bedroom residences with kitchen for those who want to be more independent. Upgrade to a Haute Living Retreat or Suite for extras including a dedicated concierge, upgraded bath amenities, pillow menu, private check-in and access to the Haute Living Room, where drinks and hot and cold snacks are served throughout the day. Restaurants And Bars

Domes Resorts are highly regarded for their innovative culinary offerings, and this is no exception, with four restaurants and three bars spread around the resort. Gustatio serves Portuguese cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, including an excellent buffet breakfast, Topos showcases neo-Greek seafood, and Makris on the Lake is an over-water restaurant that makes use of the freshest local and organic ingredients. The boho-chic SORA Beach Restaurant is a recent addition, serving Portuguese seafood and artfully presented cocktails, while the Apricus Lagoon Bar is housed within a wooden pergola surrounded by water, and the Raw Gastro Bar offers refreshing drinks and finger foods such as cod ceviche and sea bass tartare as well as mixology sessions.

Facilities

Highlights include a natural sand-bottomed swimming pool. The award-winning Soma Spa is a serene space in the heart of the wetlands, offering a selection of revitalising treatments, and there is also a gym, paddle tennis courts and a cycling trail. The list of activities available at the resort and nearby is extensive, and includes lakeside yoga, kayaking, windsurfing, bird watching, dolphin watching, stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing and wine tasting, to name just a few. There are six golf courses in Vilamoura, less than five minutes from the resort, and many more within a 30-minute drive. The crèche and kids’ club operate to UK Ofsted standards, with staff that focus on Montessori-style methods, and the KiEPOS programme encourages children to learn about sustainability and healthy eating by planting their own vegetables, herbs and flowers.
