Situated almost 800 ft above sea level, this remarkable fortress is one of the best preserved and most dramatic in the entire Caribbean. Constructed over the course of 100 years between the 1690s and 1790s and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Brimstone Hill was the site of many dramatic battles between the British and the French as both nations sought to assert their control of the lucrative Caribbean colonies.
